A Bird’s Diner Can Be Their Castle Too

It makes no difference where or why or how you do it, drawing wildlife to your backyard is always worth the effort. Wildlife adds a dimension to your space that cannot really be filled by anything else and if you’re looking for variety, nothing beats attracting the birds. Besides feeders for hummingbirds, you’ll see feeders made from many kinds of metals, woods and plastics, but you’ll not see wild birdfeeders more imaginatively created than this Birdhouse feeder in the shape of a castle. It’s nice when you don’t need to be worried about climbing up on a ladder with a bucket full of seeds because with this wild bird feeder,  when the seed is eaten up you’re left with a quaint wooden wild bird house.

Aside from the visual issues of where in your yard you want to locate your birdfeeders and baths there are also practical questions that you had better consider. Birdfeeders and baths need a clear field of vision all around them so that predators (like Fluffy the cat) cannot hide and launch a sneak attack from the foliage.  Bird feeders in particular can be tricky to situate well.  To start, it will be difficult to place any wild bird feeder so you’re not support every squirrel in the neighborhood.  And they are very messy so if you don’t want seeds and suet scattered all over your table, don’t put them too close
