Ribbons and Flowers Fireplace Screen
If you’re out looking for a special gift this year, be it for a wedding, housewarming, birthday or anniversary gift, you might want to temporarily turn your attention back to a different, more romantic time. No one would ever say that Victorian life was simple, but the designs now known as Victorian Stained Glass were spectacular examples of intricate design and superior craftsmanship. I’m happy to say that all is not lost.
The Ribbons and Flowers, Stained Glass Fire Place Screen is a wonderful example of the beauty of Victorian times, echoed in this Tiffany Style Screen. It has been made using the old construction process known as copper foil and no fewer than 1,044 pieces of stained glass, all within a frame of solid brass, have gone into this work of art. It won’t withstand the fire’s heat in the winter. This screen is purely decorative, but what a great job it does at decorating. Created in three panels with an overall width of 44 inches and 34 inches high, all three panels are capped with a semi-circular stained glass frame that could have easily been incorporated into the doors and windows of some older homes.
