Using Outdoor Sheds

After driving through an older neighborhood and seeing the many run down sheds at the back of the ally I thought I would let you in on a few things that can really help prolong the life of a metal shed. I have owned a 10 x 8 Colossus for about 5 years now and it still looks brand new. One of the main reasons is because I made sure it was placed on level ground with a good foundation before it was ever installed. This is very important for a shed that is tin or metal because they can easily bend if you’re not careful.

The next thing is to remember when you are dealing with outdoor sheds you have to consider the elements in your area. If you live where you get high winds then you must make sure your shed is anchored well on its foundation. You also need to watch out for anything that can fall or hit the metal and ding or dent it up. That means to place the shed in an open spot where limbs and other debris cannot easily bang into it and the final thing is to clean it at least twice a year and do it on a day where the sun is hot and bright and the shed will dry quickly.
